Mathematics of black earning of Rs 1.5 crore every month

Now the complete mathematics of recovery that has come out after the raid in this case will surprise you. Every night around 1000 trucks used to pass through this UP-Bihar border in Ballia and Rs 500 were illegally collected from the driver of each truck as the price for crossing the border. According to this, the policemen earned black money of Rs 5 lakh in just one day. If we look at this collection on a monthly basis, then the policemen of Ballia were collecting Rs 1.5 crore every month.

This extortion scandal came to light in Ballia when ADG and DIG jointly raided Bharauli check post after complaining about continuous extortion by policemen. During this time, two policemen who were illegally extorting money from trucks were arrested from the spot. Along with them, 16 brokers involved in extortion were also caught.

Revealed in DIG’s raid

Regarding this matter, DIG (Azamgarh Range) Vaibhav Krishna said that ADG Zone Banaras and I in plain clothes raided a police post on the Bihar-UP border near Bharosi Tirahe in Narhi police station area. Recovery was being made from the trucks that come there in which police personnel were involved. He said that these people (accused policemen) used to charge Rs 500 per vehicle and about a thousand trucks passed through there every night.

Yogi government removed SP, ASP from the post

After the matter came to light, the state government has suspended the entire Korantadih post. According to the information, the accused policemen used to collect money from those involved in smuggling of liquor, cattle smuggling and red sand on the UP-Bihar border. After the case of policemen being involved in illegal extortion racket came to light, CM Yogi took swift action and removed the SP and ASP of Ballia from their posts. Now IPS Vikrant Veer has been made the new police captain of Ballia.

At the same time, orders have also been given for vigilance investigation of the property of CO, SHO and outpost incharge, who are among the accused policemen involved in the extortion scandal. Constable Hardayal Singh was arrested from the spot in the raid after which the entire racket came to light.

In this case of illegal extortion, a case has been registered against Narhi police station incharge, outpost in-charge (Karantadih) in which a total of 7 policemen have been made accused. The investigation of this matter has been given to the ASP of Azamgarh. After being found guilty in the initial investigation, Narhi police station incharge Pannelal and outpost incharge (Karantadih) Rajesh Prabhakar have been suspended.

Singh, driver Omprakash and 10 constables have been suspended. The residences of the constables involved in the recovery have also been sealed.
