Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Jora Ram Kumawat said, “The word ‘stray’ will no longer be used for cows in Rajasthan.” While replying to the debate on the demand for grants of the Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department in the Rajasthan Assembly on Wednesday, Joram Kumawat said that from now on the word ‘destitute’ will be used for stray cows.

According to the agency, the minister said, “The state government is committed to making cattle herders economically self-reliant by developing valuable animal wealth and increasing livestock production. The state government will also work sensitively for the conservation and promotion of cows and bulls.” Has been.”

After discussion in the House, the Assembly passed the demands for grants of the department by voice vote.

Formation of Chief Minister Animal Husbandry Development Fund

Joram Kumawat said that Chief Minister Animal Husbandry Development Fund will be formed in the state with a provision of Rs 250 crore. Along with this, ‘Mukhyamantri Mangala Pashu Bima Yojana’ will be started covering other animals along with milch animals. He said in the Assembly that for the convenience of cattle farmers, cattle fairs will be organized in all the districts in a phased manner.

Rs 653.65 crore for cow sheds

Rajasthan government has approved a grant of Rs 653.65 crore to cow shelters in this financial year. Cow Husbandry Minister Jora Ram Kumawat told the Assembly on Thursday that the Rajasthan government has issued administrative approval for a grant of Rs 653.65 crore to cow shelters in this financial year. The minister was replying to supplementary questions asked by an MLA during Question Hour. Kumawat said that till July 22 in the financial year 2024-25, administrative approval of Rs 653.65 crore has been issued for grant to 2,843 cow shelters.
