Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Kargil War Memorial on July 26 on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas. During this, he will pay tribute to those brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the country during the India-Pakistan war in 1999. In the statement issued by the PMO, it was said that ‘On the occasion of 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Kargil War Memorial at around 9:20 am and pay tribute to the brave men who made the sacrifice.’

Will lay the foundation stone of Shinkun La Tunnel Project

During this time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will carry out the first blast of the strategically important Shinkun La Tunnel Project. According to a statement issued by the PMO, this project will provide all-weather connectivity to Leh. Let us tell you, after completion, it will be the highest tunnel in the world. This project is 4.1 km long. It is to be constructed at an altitude of about 15,800 feet on Nimu-Padum-Darcha road. When the project is completed, it will be the highest tunnel in the world. Shinkun La Tunnel is also said to be very important from strategic point of view. This will ensure fast and efficient movement of armed forces and equipment.

The event will be held in Dras

A program is to be organized in Dras on Friday in memory of the warriors of Kargil war. Let us tell you that Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year on 26th July. This time’s program is special because it is the silver jubilee of Kargil Day. A large number of senior officers, gallantry award winners, veterans and families of the bravehearts who sacrificed their lives during the Kargil war will be present in this program. Let us tell you that the Kargil war was fought from 3 May 1999 to 26 July 1999. The Indian Army had won on 26 July. Since then this date is celebrated as Kargil Vijay Diwas.

Pakistan had broken the agreement

Before 1999, there was an agreement between India and Pakistan that the soldiers of both the countries would not deploy their troops in winter in those areas where snow would accumulate. India followed this agreement but Pakistan followed it under deception. I had captured these hills. In this, he had reached many important areas including Dras, Tiger Hill and Kargil. Pakistanis had made inroads within a radius of about 134 km. During the Kargil war, India had lost 527 of its soldiers in 3 months. 1363 soldiers were injured in this war.
