In the fire incident at Vivek Vihar Baby Care Center in East Delhi, Delhi Police has filed a charge sheet in Karkardooma Court in which the statements of 81 witnesses have been recorded. In this case, Baby Care Center director Dr. Naveen Khichi and Dr. Akash have been made accused. On May 25, seven children died in a fire at a baby care center.

After 2 months, Delhi Police has filed a 796-page charge sheet in this case. The court has fixed August 2 for hearing. Delhi Police has filed a charge sheet under sections 304 i.e. culpable homicide not amounting to murder, 308 i.e. attempt to commit culpable homicide not amounting to murder and sections of the JJ Act. The next day after the accident, i.e. on 26th, Delhi Police arrested the owner of the baby care center, Dr. Naveen Khagi, in this case, while on 27th May, Dr. Akash was arrested.

Serious allegations against doctor and owner in charge sheet

According to sources, many things have been mentioned in the charge sheet. It has been said that the doctor present in the hospital neither informed the police nor the fire department immediately after the accident, due to which the rescue was delayed by about 30 minutes. According to the police, doctors and nurses with proper degrees were not on duty in the hospital.

It has been said in the charge sheet that the baby care center was approved for five beds but 12 beds were running here. Not only this, there were not as many oxygen cylinders as there should have been and those that were there were not safe. It was because of this that there was a blast. The hearing of the case is to be held in Karkardooma Court on August 2.

The hospital did not have NOC

The operators of Vivek Vihar’s Baby Care New Born Hospital had not taken NOC from the Delhi Fire Department and were running the hospital without it. There was no emergency exit gate in this baby care center nor the necessary equipment to extinguish the fire. The biggest thing that has come to light till date is that the doctors in this hospital were not even qualified to treat children. The admission charge for one day in this center was Rs 12 to 15 thousand.
