He said, ‘This happened in the 30s. There was a gap because I was not doing TV. I wanted to challenge myself as an actor. I was experimenting with theater at that time. There was a time when everything was calm and I was thinking ‘Is all this really happening to me? I am not getting roles because I am 34-35 years old.
This phase did not last long for Mona Singh. In 2017, the digital medium was on the rise and then the actress realized that she still had a lot to do. Mona told, ‘The kind of stories that were coming at that time and the way of telling the stories had changed. This is very bold and also very creative. There were many roles for me to do here. And the characters were not just black and white, you could also play gray shade characters without being judged.
What kind of roles does Mona want to do?
Mona Singh, who worked in the film ‘Munjya’, said that her priorities are still the same as they were before. She wants to do such roles that push her limits as an actor and challenge her to do better. The actress said, ‘I want to play the role of a female police, want to do action scenes. I am hungry to do more and want to explore every genre. When I am choosing projects, I should feel ‘wow’ after reading the script and it should have an impact on me. It should have an impact, it should cause me to lose sleep wondering how to do this.
