Pune court has sent Manorama Khedkar, mother of Maharashtra trainee IAS Pooja Khedkar, embroiled in controversies, to judicial custody for 14 days. The court rejected his bail plea in a criminal case related to a land dispute and sent him to custody.

The prosecution says that a case of attempt to murder has been registered against Manorama and she can get relief only from the sessions court. Manorama’s police custody ended on Monday, after which she was produced before the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class. Here he was sent to judicial custody by the court for 14 days.

Manorama’s lawyer had filed a petition for her bail. But the court said that a case has been registered against Manorama under section 307 of the IPC, which can be heard in the sessions court only. Saying this, the court refused to interfere in this case and rejected the bail petition.

The pressure on Manorama had increased after the video of her waving the pistol went viral on social media. She had gone missing amid fears of legal action. When the police reached her residence, she was not there. She was constantly hiding from the police. His phone was also switched off. In such a situation, she was not cooperating in the investigation in any way. The police was running a search operation in search of Pooja’s family.
