The war between Hamas and the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip is at its peak. Israel is wreaking havoc on different cities of Gaza every day. On Friday, the IDF killed a prominent Hamas commander in Jenin, West Bank. In a joint operation, Israel killed Hamas’ Jenin chief Wasem Hazem when he was traveling in a truck with his fellow fighters.

According to Indian Defense Sources, Waseem Hazem was involved in terrorist activities against Israel. He used to plan firing and bombing attacks. Along with this, 9 people of the same family died in an Israeli attack on an apartment in central Gaza. The dead include five innocent children and two women. One of the women who died in this attack was also a pregnant woman.

The bodies of the dead members of the Al-Tawil family were brought to the morgue of Al-Aqsa Hospital. Here the journalists themselves counted the bodies. According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, Israel attacked the Nuseirat refugee camp. The women and children of the Al-Tawil family fell victim to this attack. More than 40 thousand Palestinians have been killed in the bombing in Gaza since October last year.

On the other hand, polio has also spread amidst Israeli attacks in Gaza. It is making innocent children its victims. An alert has been issued after a 10-month-old child Abdul Rahman Abu al-Zidyan was found infected with polio. This is the first time in the last 25 years that a child has been found infected with polio in Gaza. In such a situation, a polio vaccination campaign has been announced.

According to the World Health Organization, the polio vaccination campaign will begin in Gaza from Sunday. This three-day campaign, starting on September 1, will cover the central, southern and northern parts of Gaza. Rick Pepperkorn, a senior WHO official, said that 6 lakh 40 thousand children will be vaccinated in this vaccination campaign to be run in Gaza.

The special thing is that Israel has agreed to a ceasefire for the polio campaign in Gaza. The ceasefire will be in effect from 6 am to 3 pm local time on the day of the polio campaign. According to news agency Reuters, this vaccination campaign will be monitored by the Palestinian Health Ministry, World Health Organization, UNICEF and UNRWA. 2 thousand health workers will participate in it.
