8 Indian players face Australia for the first time, big mistake could cost dearly

India vs Australia 1st Test: Only a few days are left for the start of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The first match between the two teams will be played at Perth Stadium on November 22. But regular captain Rohit Sharma and young batsman Shubman Gill were unavailable for the first Test. Rohit has not been to Australia since the birth of his second child. Gill missed the first game due to injury. This adds to the crisis for the Indian team as both players have played in Australia and know the conditions there very well. The second biggest concern of the team management is that eight players in the Indian Test squad have never played a Test match against Australia before.

3 players have yet to make their test debut

Eight players including Abhimanyu Easwaran, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, Sarfaraz Khan, Nitish Reddy, Akash Deep, Harshit Rana and Prasidh Krishna are part of the Indian Test team, which has toured Australia for the Test series. But these players have yet to play a Test match against Australia in their careers, or even have experience in playing too many Test matches. Out of these 8 players, 3 players (Abhimanyu Easwaran, Harshit Rana, Nitish Reddy) are yet to make their Test debut. Now, the Indian selectors’ move to select less experienced players could backfire on Australia. Now, if these players get a spot in the India XI, all of them will be playing their first Test match against Australia.

Abhimanyu Easwaran hopes to get a chance

Rohit Sharma did not play in the first Test match. In this scenario, Abhimanyu Easwaran might get a chance to make his Test debut and he is a strong contender to start alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. He has achieved great success in domestic cricket. He has scored 7674 runs in 101 Test matches so far, including 27 centuries. On the other hand, Dhruv Jurel, Akash Deep and Harshit Rana are also likely to get opportunities in the eleven for the first Test.
