Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday claimed that the Congress government in Telangana has completed more than 70 per cent of the caste census and now reiterated that by conducting the caste census in the Telangana way Caste census conducted at national level will stay.
Rahul Gandhi tweeted on social networking site X on Wednesday that our government has completed more than 70% of caste enumeration in Telangana. Soon the government will have detailed data on the entire country, which we will use to inform policy and enhance social justice.
He said the caste census is the first of many important steps that will help in planning overall development in the coming decades.
Rahul Gandhi said this is why I have repeatedly demanded a comprehensive caste census in the country. The Congress government in Telangana has shown the way and we will conduct a comprehensive caste census at the national level as well.
