The principal of a government school in Gujarat’s Dahod district has been arrested for allegedly murdering a student. The principal was accused of trying to sexually assault a six-year-old girl but when the girl protested, he killed the student.
Regarding the incident, an official said that after the body of a girl was found inside the school premises in a village in Singwad taluka, the police had started investigation on Thursday and later found the involvement of the principal in the incident.
Attempt to brutalize innocent people
SP Rajdeep Singh Jala said school principal Govind Nat had tried to sexually assault the girl and when she protested, he choked her, the news agency reported.
Police said that when questioned, the principal initially insisted that he took the girl to school in his own car. He then confessed to the police that he had killed the girl.
According to police, the principal attempted to sexually assault the girl while driving her to school. When the girl protested, he covered her mouth and nose to stop her from screaming, causing her to lose consciousness, the officer said.

The report stated, “The principal arrived at the school and parked his car next to the girl’s body. At 5 p.m., he took out the body and dumped it behind the school building. He then placed the girl’s school bag and slippers in her class. When the girl did not return home after school, her parents and relatives started looking for her and found her lying unconscious in the field behind the school building. They rushed her to the hospital, but the girl was already dead by then.
He said technical analysis and the time of the evening after school made him the prime suspect and after questioning, he confessed to the crime. “The day after the girl’s body was found, her autopsy report showed that she died of strangulation,” police said.
