6 Bangladeshis arrested in Karnataka after entering India from Kolkata on fake documents

Police have arrested six Bangladeshi citizens illegally living in Chitradurga city in Karnataka state. These Bangladeshi citizens entered India illegally and were living here on the basis of fake documents. Fake Aadhaar cards, voter ID cards, labor cards, bank passbooks, PAN cards and passports were also recovered from the possession of these arrested accused.

A press release issued by the Chitradurga SP office said that the arrest was made on November 18, 2024, near Arvind Garments and White Wash Garments on Holalkere Road in the city. Police detained the Bangladeshi nationals under suspicious circumstances and questioned them. Those arrested include Suman Hussain, Sheikh Saifur Rehman, Mazharul, Azizul Sheikh, Mohammad Shakib Sikdar and Sanowar Hussain.

The accused said they entered India from Kolkata, West Bengal through fake documents and settled and worked in the country. Thereafter, he worked in different states and recently reached Chitradurga city for employment.

The police have seized the fake documents found from these accused and further legal action is being taken. The police plan to take the accused into custody and send him to Bengaluru for further interrogation. Police suspect there may be a large network of Bangladeshi infiltrators in the area and are taking action against it.

The action was taken under the guidance of Chitradurga district SP Ranjit Kumar Bandaru and DSP Dinkar. The members of the police team include Inspector N. Venkatesh of Chandranath Police Station, Inspector N. Gurdapal of District Special Branch, Inspector Dodana of Chitradurga Fort Police Station, Inspector Muduraj of Chitradurga Rural Police Station and others.
