In this family of eight members, four cannot see during the day and two cannot see even in the light of night. They start having trouble seeing as the evening approaches. The victims got treatment at many places but the problem still remains. Six people of the same family are suffering from a strange eye disease. He says that as soon as the evening falls, he is unable to see even in the light.
Let us tell you that the name of the village is Tuckersan, which falls in Hanumanganj block of Ballia. Dalit Ram Pravesh lives with his family in this village. Apart from his wife, there are 6 sons at home. Altogether there is a family of eight people. Financially very weak. He earns his living by doing hard labour. In this poverty, half a dozen members of the family are suffering from a strange eye disease.
According to family members, Ram Pravesh’s sons Hari (35), Ramu (27), Bhanu (22) and Jairam (20) are not seen during the day. Whereas, Ramu’s wife Sunita Devi cannot see even in the night light. Another member of Ram Pravesh’s family also has trouble seeing at night.
It is being told that the victims have shown many places in Nepal and Bihar (Chhapra) including Ballia, but to no avail. We don’t have much money so we can’t get treatment in a big hospital in private. In such a situation, the family is living with eye problems. At the same time, the family has not been able to avail the benefits of many government facilities. Neither do they have ration cards nor government housing and toilets. Ayushman card has also not been made. The family is forced to live in a tin shed.
When Hanumanganj BDO Surya Prakash was talked about in this regard, he said that recently this matter has come to his notice. After getting this investigated, the victim’s family will be provided benefits of every government scheme on the basis of eligibility. Something will also be done to solve eye problems.
On the other hand, in this case the ophthalmologist says that such eye disease is also called nyctalopia or night blindness. People who cannot see during the day may have glaucoma or some problem with the optic nerve. This problem can also occur due to genetic disease or auto immune disease. However, the real problem will be known only after examination of the patient.
