36 accused arrested so far in NEET leak, CBI told how it got the clue of irregularities

In the NEET paper leak case, CBI said on Thursday that searches have been conducted at 33 places so far in this matter. 36 people have been arrested, out of which 15 have been arrested by Bihar Police. The Central Investigation Agency said that many evidences have also been collected in the paper leak case. On the basis of which further action will be taken.

Clue found from half burnt piece of paper

The agency said that during investigation, it was revealed that the NEET (UG) 2024 paper was illegally obtained on May 5, 2024 from Oasis School, Hazaribagh, Jharkhand by Pankaj Kumar, one of the masterminds of NEET. In this matter, the collusion of many officials including the Principal and Vice Principal of Oasis School has come to light. Pankaj, who was absconding, has been traced and arrested. The school principal, vice principal and assistant have been arrested. CBI said that CBI had reached this examination center with the pieces of half burnt question papers.

CBI said that the trunk containing NEET UG 2024 question papers was brought to the school and was kept in the control room in the morning of May 5. Minutes after the trunk arrived, the school principal and other officials illegally allowed this mastermind to enter the room where the trunks were kept. The sophisticated equipment used to open the trunk and access the question papers from the trunk has been seized.

Hazaribagh solved paper

The CBI said that after the NEET paper was recovered from the trunk, it was solved in Hazaribagh by a set of solvers and the solved paper was shared with some selected students who paid money to the accused. CBI said that all the solvers have been identified and some have also been arrested. Some of these solvers are MBBS students from big colleges. CBI said that some other people were also involved in this malpractice who were involved in bringing the candidates.
