UP News: Acting on information about fake sweets being manufactured during Diwali, the police and food department raided the sweets factory at Gursahaiganj in Kannauj district. During this period, approximately 3,000 kilograms of candy were seized. Police said the factory owner had absconded. Some people working there were detained and interrogated. Police and food department teams have sealed the factory and confiscated all goods found there.
According to sources, the Gursahaiganj Kotwali police received information that a candy factory was operating at Sarai Prayag Tada village in Kotwali district to produce fake sweets. After receiving information, a joint team of police and food inspectors from Chhibramau SDM Umakant Tiwari and Gursahaiganj police stations conducted raids. During this period, the factory owner fled the scene.

The team investigated the factory and examined the materials used to make the candy there. Subsequently, the fertilizer department staff took samples of the entire lot and seized around 30 quintals of pre-made sweets. The rava, refined starch and starch packets used were taken away by them. Police detained those present and began questioning them.
In this case, CO Kamlesh Kumar said the Gursahaiganj police received information about the making of fake sweets. A joint team of SDM Chhibramau and the food department and police conducted a raid on the shop. In the meantime, the factory has been locked down. The factory owner absconded. Some people have been detained from there. Food inspectors said about 30 quintals of pre-made sweets had been seized. All items recovered from there have been seized. Further action is being taken following the investigation.
