The biggest allegation was made by Mangesh’s family after the encounter. They say that Mangesh was not in Sultanpur but in Jaunpur on the day of the incident on 28 August. But the Uttar Pradesh police came up with a video on Thursday, which claims that Mangesh Yadav was present inside the jewelery shop with a stolen motorcycle for the robbery. The head of UP Police held a press conference on Thursday and presented 3 videos and 2 photographs in front of the media and called all the allegations baseless.

Actually, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav once again raised questions on the Mangesh Yadav encounter on Thursday. He said that Mangesh Yadav was not killed in an encounter but was murdered. The police came at night and took Mangesh away. Here a strategy is also made to carry out an encounter. In such a situation, when questions were raised on the Uttar Pradesh Police regarding the Mangesh Yadav encounter in the Samajwadi Party office, at the same time, the DG of UP Police in Lucknow presented a video in front of the media as evidence. Actually, Mangesh Yadav’s sister had alleged that Mangesh Yadav was in Jaunpur on the day of Sultanpur robbery on 28 August. After this claim of Mangesh Yadav’s sister, UP Police showed two evidences.

The first video shown is of the robbery at a jewellery shop in Sultanpur on 28 August. Where the police claim that the man in the turquoise shirt is none other than Mangesh Yadav, who arrived to commit the robbery wearing a helmet. Along with this video, UP Police also released a photo, in which the police said that Ankit, Arbaaz, Mangesh Yadav, Anuj Pratap Singh and Furkan had entered the shop and committed the robbery. That is, UP Police responded to Mangesh’s claim of being in Jaunpur on the day of the Sultanpur robbery with CCTV videos, photos, the confession of the main accused and said that Mangesh was directly involved in the Sultanpur robbery.

Police said the claims of Mangesh’s mother and sister were false

The second biggest allegation in the Mangesh Yadav encounter was that three days before the encounter, the police took Mangesh away in the name of interrogation, while the police held a press conference on Thursday and released two videos of Mangesh’s mother and sister, calling this claim false. In fact, Mangesh’s sister had claimed that the police came at 2 am on Monday. They came from behind. The brother was sleeping outside. They said and slapped him a couple of times and then caught him and said that they will let him go after interrogation.

This statement of Mangesh Yadav’s sister has raised the most questions about UP police in the last eight days. The sister said while crying that the police had picked up her brother Mangesh on the night of September 2. But now UP police has released two videos of the same night. These videos are being said to be of the night of September 2. When the police reached his house in Jaunpur in search of Mangesh. According to UP police, Mangesh Yadav’s sister and mother kept saying that Mangesh has gone to Mumbai. Then why is it being said now that the police picked him up on September 2?

Sufficient evidence against the accused: DGP

It was also alleged that Mangesh, against whom the police say there are eight cases of robbery and theft, does not even have a permanent house, whereas after the encounter, the police showed branded bags and clothes with Mangesh. In response, the UP police claims that everything has happened with evidence. The rest will be proved in the court.

While addressing a press conference, UP DGP Prashant Kumar said that the police department does not work on the basis of caste or any other factor. There is sufficient evidence against those who are said to be involved in the Sultanpur incident. Mangesh Yadav was also involved in the Sultanpur robbery. The police have strong evidence of his involvement. The police action is fair and evidence based. The DGP showed CCTV footage and claimed that Mangesh himself entered the shop and was looting.
