Three people died after an old and dilapidated building collapsed in Jahangirpuri, Delhi. There is a possibility that many people may still be buried under the debris due to the collapse of the three-storey building, for which relief work is still going on.

Officials said that some more people may still be trapped under the debris and efforts are being made to rescue them. Police had earlier recovered two bodies, including that of a woman, from the debris. An official said that the name of the third deceased in the incident is Mukesh Kumar (45), who was injured and died during treatment in the hospital.

He said that the three-storey building that collapsed was a garment factory. “Some repair work was going on inside the building when it collapsed,” the officer said. Delhi Fire Service (DFS) officials said they received an emergency call at around 12.51 pm following which five fire tenders were sent to the spot.

Let us tell you that even a year ago, repair work was done in this factory, but despite this, different work was being done on all three floors of the factory. During the repair work, the front part of the building collapsed and about 6 to 7 people working there got buried under the debris.

After receiving information about the incident, the police team reached the spot and started relief work and four people were pulled out from the debris and taken to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital. The work of removing the debris is still going on and there is chaos in the entire area.
