3 policemen suspended after misbehaving with girls in Badlapur, CM Shinde said- case will be run in fast track court

Protests have intensified after the alleged sexual abuse of two girls in Badlapur, and locals and protesters have put forth some important demands. The protesters especially demanded the formation of fast-track courts to expedite legal proceedings and give severe punishment or death penalty to the accused. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that the case will be heard in fast-track courts and the accused will be given strict punishment.

The protesters alleged that the police team had delayed action and demanded that the officers who did so be suspended. Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis accepted the protesters’ demand and directed the Police Commissioner to suspend the officers who responded late – Senior Police Inspector, Assistant Sub-Inspector and Head Constable. CM Eknath Shinde also ordered an inquiry into the matter and said that the policemen have been suspended.

Protesters blocking the train

In response to the demands of the protesters, Additional Commissioner of Police Sanjay Jadhav tried to negotiate with the protesters. However, some protesters started throwing bottles at the police. During his address, Jadhav reassured the crowd and said, “We agree with your demands but please listen to us.”

Action will be taken according to the law

It is being said that the atmosphere in Badlapur remains tense. Amidst the protests, police officers were seen raising slogans like “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Ki Jai”. He reiterated the commitment of law enforcement to take strict action against the accused, and said that steps will be taken as per the Constitution.

Protesters stopped local trains

The local police is trying to prepare the chargesheet within a time frame of two to three days. The protesters have blocked the railway tracks and stopped trains in protest. Due to this, the common people are facing serious problems. Police Commissioner Sanjay Jadhav appealed that the railway is the lifeline of Mumbai and hence it should not be stopped, and that this will increase the problems of the common people.
