3 climbers from the US and Canada are missing on New Zealand’s highest peak, here’s what the police say

Wellington: Three climbers from the United States and Canada planned to climb New Zealand’s highest peak, Aoraki, but failed to return. The climbers are now reported missing. Officials provided the information Tuesday. The men began climbing on Saturday, but no information about them was received until Monday, police said. Three climbers failed to reach their intended location after climbing and were subsequently declared missing.

Heavy rain and snowfall forecast

Hours later, searchers found some climbing equipment believed to belong to the three climbers, police said. However, no information was found about the three climbers during the search. The search was unable to begin on Tuesday due to bad weather at Aoraki, also known as Mount Cook. Heavy rain and snow are expected here.
