In Sambhal, UP, DM along with his team raided the municipality office. The DM’s raid continued for about 7 hours. During this time, the DM lined up door to door garbage collection companies and sanitation workers from across the city. When the DM started investigation, a big scam of the garbage collection company came to light. After which the DM gave instructions to register a case against 6 people of the company. Police arrested three people including the company manager and field officer.
In fact, when Sambhal district DM Dr. Rajendra Pensia suddenly reached the main market and several wards of the city along with ADM Pradeep Kumar and SDM Vinay Mishra on Wednesday morning for a surprise inspection, he saw heaps of garbage everywhere. Seeing this the DM expressed his displeasure with the subordinate officers. After this the DM raided the Municipal Council office located in Sadar Kotwali area.
Here, as soon as the DM reached the office, the first thing he did was to line up the door-to-door garbage collection company and all the sanitation workers from across the city. On the instructions of the DM, all the sanitation workers were called to the municipality and along with this, the supervisors and managers of the garbage collection company were also called to the municipality. When the DM called all the cleaning workers and conducted an investigation, he found private employees and their relatives working in place of many workers.
Out of 246 sanitation workers, only 148 were at work.
After which the DM asked for the list from the manager and field officer of the garbage collection company and the list of 246 sanitation workers was given by the company Shri Balaji Steel and Building Material Supplier Organization. Despite 246 sanitation workers being engaged in garbage collection, the DM became suspicious of the company’s list when there was a pile of garbage in the city, so the DM also called the company’s employees to the municipality. As soon as the cleaning workers were called, the fraud of the company came to light. Where out of 246 sanitation workers, only 148 employees were working in the municipality, while the door to door garbage collection company was embezzling government money by withdrawing the salaries of 246 employees.
During the investigation in the municipality, the DM checked the mobile phones of the supervisor of the garbage collection company and during the raid, another big act of the company’s manager came to light. As soon as the DM’s raid started, the manager of the garbage collection company had messaged in the WhatsApp group of supervisors that on DM’s inquiry, everyone should inform about having 4 sweepers in their team.
In this way, during DM’s investigation, layer after layer of frauds of the garbage collection company came to light. On which the DM called the Kotwali police on the spot and instructed them to take the main employees of the garbage collection company into custody. Within some time, police station in-charge Anuj Tomar and SSI Shravan Kumar took garbage collection company representative Arvind Gupta and Udit Sankdhar, manager Ankush into custody on the spot.
At present, on the basis of the complaint of Municipality President Ashiya Musheer, Sadar Kotwali police has registered a case against garbage collection company representatives Arvind Gupta and Udit Sankdhar, manager Ankush and three supervisors Shariq, Intezaar and Suhaib. At the same time, the DM has constituted a high level investigation team under the leadership of ADM Pradeep Kumar to investigate the scam of the garbage collection company.
In this matter, DM Dr. Rajendra Pansia said that during the surprise inspection, irregularities in the door to door garbage collection company have come to light, in which physical verification of all the employees has been done. Many such things have been found which are shown in the papers but are not there on the spot. An investigation team has been formed and an FIR has also been lodged against 6 people of the garbage collection company. Such irregularities will not be tolerated at all.
