What was his mistake? In fact, he had shown the courage to refute the claims of the then new Chief Minister. Not even a year has passed since Mamata Banerjee came to the Writers Building (Secretariat of West Bengal Government) and then she dismissed the rape case as ‘Shajano Ghotona’ i.e. a fake incident and claimed that it was ‘to defame her new government’. It was a ‘fabricated incident’.
Mamta has already dismissed many rape cases
Didi (Mamata Banerjee) probably did not like Dayamanti Sen investigating the Park Street gangrape case, solving the case and arresting the five culprits. Sen had gone against the CM here because no one would go against Didi. That was 2012 and now it is 2024.. That means nothing much has changed even in 12 years.

During the Banerjee government, cases like Hanskhali, Kamduni, Kakdweep, Ranaghat, Siuri, Sandeshkhali came up. He had dismissed the rape incident in Hanskhali as an ‘affair’ while he had described the protesters in Kamduni as ‘CPI(M) supporters’ because these protesters had raised questions about crimes against women. In May-June 2021, she maintained silence when rape complaints were suppressed in police stations across Bengal.
Now, when Kolkata is in the news due to another rape and murder case, when the protesters are protesting demanding justice, Mamata Banerjee is protesting against the protests. Aren’t you wondering who their protest was against? Are you also thinking that he is not in control of state power?

When Mamta linked rape with affair
For example, let’s take April 2022. A 14 year old girl was allegedly raped in Nadia. The girl died. Do you know what CM Mamata Banerjee said after that? The CM said, “It is being said that a minor has died due to rape, will you call it rape? Was she pregnant or was she in a love affair? Have they interrogated? I have asked the police. They “Arrests have been made. I was told that the girl had an affair with the boy.” The thing to note is that the accused was allegedly the son of a local TMC veteran leader.
Then in 2013, Kamduni gangrape happened. When Banerjee went to Kamduni 10 days after the incident, she had to face a mob of angry women. One of the women shouted at him, “Have you come here to show your face?” This question was asked to Mamta a few days before the Panchayat election campaign and Didi once again started smelling a conspiracy against her government.

Then Mamata Banerjee said, “The people here are supporters of CPM. I am sad to say that CPM is doing politics. All the goons arrested for rape-murder were supporters of CPM. They all knew that the main accused was a relative of the TMC Panchayat Pradhan.
