Amidst the continuous increase in terrorist attacks in Jammu region, the Center has decided to transfer 2 battalions of Assam Rifles to Jammu region to strengthen the security grid. 2 battalions of Assam Rifles from Manipur will be transferred to Jammu region.
Recently, 3000 additional Army personnel and 2000 BSF personnel were also deployed in Jammu region to strengthen the security grid. Sources say that around 40-50 trained Pakistani terrorists are hiding in the upper areas of Doda, Rajouri, Poonch, Udhampur and other places. Therefore, additional troops are being deployed in the Jammu region as part of major anti-terrorist operations.
