The investigation into the murder of Mumbai NCP leader Baba Siddiqui has continued for 13 days. However, the police have not yet been able to find out the reason behind the murder. The police arrested the 15th accused in the case from Ludhiana in Punjab on Friday. Police said it was linked to a murder plot.

The fifteenth accused, Surjit Singh, has been arrested from Ludhiana. It is understood that he has been hiding in his father-in-law’s house for the past 15 days. Surjit Singh, a resident of Ghatkopar, fled Mumbai and came to Ludhiana a month ago, police said. He was also the man who introduced wanted kingpin Zeishan Akhtar to arrest accused Nitin Sapre and Ran Kanoja, who were earlier implicated in the Baba Basidiqui shooting.
Who is Baba Siddiqui
Baba Siddiqui was born in Patna and his influence spread across Mumbai politics and Bollywood. His iftar party was attended by senior figures from the film industry. Talking about the net worth of Baba Siddique, who lives a lavish lifestyle, it is around Rs 76 crore, according to his affidavit submitted to the Election Commission during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. However, he is believed to have far more than that. The reason for believing this could also be that in 2018, ED had seized 33 luxury apartments associated with Siddiqui and Pyramid Developers, which were said to be worth around Rs 462 crore.

If we talk only about the election affidavit submitted to the Election Commission, in which he declared his total assets to be Rs 7,625 crore, he informed that his debts were Rs 2,359 crore. His wife and children allegedly had around Rs 3 crore in various bank accounts. At that time, Baba Siddiqui and his wife Shehzeen Siddiqui invested over Rs 45 lakh in stocks. Apart from this, he also has an LIC policy worth Rs 72 lakh in his name.
