Muhammad Yunus was sentenced to 6 months

Yunus was sentenced to six months in jail in January for failing to create a welfare fund for the employees of one of his companies, Grameen Telecom. However, now the court has ruled in his favor, paving the way for him to lead the interim government. When asked about the size of the interim government, the Bangladesh Army Chief said, “I believe that initially it may have around 15 members. However, one or two more people can be added to it.”

Sheikh Hasina resigned, left the country

Bangladesh’s military chief has announced the formation of the interim government and the date and time of the swearing-in ceremony. This development has taken place amid the ongoing political crisis and protests in the country, where Sheikh Hasina had to resign and leave the country after the protesters became violent.
