The second phase of the Jharkhand assembly elections will be held on November 20 in 38 constituencies. At this stage, 522 candidates from different political parties are competing. Among these candidates, 127 are Crorepatis. With assets of over Rs 4 billion, Akhtar of the Samajwadi Party is the richest candidate in the second phase. This was revealed in an affidavit filed by the candidate during the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) nominations on Thursday. According to the affidavit, criminal cases were registered against 148 out of 522 candidates.
In the second phase, 127 candidates, or 24 per cent, were croprepatis, while 148 candidates, or 28 per cent, had criminal cases registered against them, the report said.
The report said 23% of the candidates disclosed in their affidavits that serious criminal cases including rape, murder and attempted murder were pending.

Reports say Akil Akhtar, the Samajwadi Party candidate from Pakur assembly seat, is the richest candidate in the second phase. According to the affidavit, his total movable assets are Rs 99.51 lakh, while the value of his immovable assets declared is Rs 402 crore. His total wealth exceeds Rs 400 crore.
The second richest candidate in the state is Niranjan Rai, the independent candidate from Dhanwar Assembly seat, whose total assets are Rs 137 crore, while Mohammad German, the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) candidate from the same seat, has total assets of around 320 million, ranking third in the state.
Meanwhile, Alien Hansdak, the Jharkhand People’s Party (JPP) candidate from Maheshpur (ST) constituency, does not have any property. The total assets of Rajeshwar Mahato, an independent candidate from the Sili Assembly seat, is Rs 100 Cr and Jitendra Oraon, another independent candidate from the Shijir assembly seat, has total assets of Rs 2,500 Cr.
Criminal cases registered against 148 candidates
According to an analysis by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates have the highest proportion of criminal cases registered. Criminal cases were registered against 14 out of 32 (44%) BJP candidates.
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) got 8 out of 24 candidates, Congress got 42% (5 out of 12 candidates) and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) got 25% (5 out of 20 candidates) ), the AJSU party received 67% (6 out of 4 candidates) ) candidates have been registered as criminal cases. According to the affidavit, criminal cases have been registered against 148 candidates.
Twelve BJP candidates, accounting for 38 per cent, were registered as serious cases. Five candidates of the Socialist Party of the Philippines (BSP) (21%) had similar cases registered, while four candidates each of the Congress Party (33%) and AJSU Party (67%) had serious criminal cases registered.
